Word Art Review

 




WordArt is a text styling program where you can color,shape and bend the words you insert however you like. Simply, it is a program that change words' appearance. In terms of educational purposes, this tool can be used in presentations as a visual aid or can be a good warm-up activity. For example, in a language class, if there is a reading task, before that, such a Word art can be shown to students in order to create a conversation on what the reading text is about:




I made this little wordart from a short story I found on this website. The story is obviously about a birthday party.

Other than that, such wordart visuals can be useful in writing classes as they can be used as a prompt for students writing. I found the website very easy to use. The only negative thing is that you cannot copy paste a text there; you have to write the words one by one. If there was an option to paste a text, it could be very useful to show  students the main point of the text by the frequently used words.

  Ed-puzzle is a website for creating educational videos. Other than creating our own videos, the platform enables us to use countless content on YouTube and edit them which makes the website quite useful. What I find the most beneficial is that teachers can add questions to some parts of the videos. So when a video is assigned to students, they need to listen carefully and answer the questions. I believe it is a great and fun way of assigning homework. Here is a YouTube video I edited on Edpuzzle. I cropped the video and added a question. This video can be used in a classroom for an introduction lesson to Philosophy or can be assigned to students before an introduction course.

Seasaw is a great app to assign homework to students .  There are hundreds of ready material which makes teachers' job easier. It is also very useful to stay in touch with parents and let them know their children  has a due homework.  Quiver Vision is a fascinating app specially for young learners. It can definitely turn classroom environment into a magical place! It basically uses augmented reality to place virtual content to real world. This app can be used for different purposes at classrooms as it attracts students attention and make the learning experience more interesting. There are some papers to print on the website. Students can paint the drawings on these papers then see their paintings alive by using the QR code or have masks with them and do role-playing activities.There are also virtual reality versions of some environments such as ocean.Teachers can adapt this app to almost every  subject.
